  • Terryl Givens did graduate work in intellectual history at Cornell and in comparative literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received his PhD. He is Professor Emeritus of Literature and Religion at the University of Richmond and the Neal A. Maxwell Senior Research Fellow at Brigham Young University. His numerous books include a history of Latter-day Saint theology and several studies of Latter-day Saint scripture, culture, biography, and history. The New York Times has called his scholarship “provocative reading,” and he has been a commentator on Church-related topics on PBS, CNN, and NPR. With his wife, Fiona, he has written several books that celebrate the restored gospel; they travel frequently to speak on the topic of finding faith in trying times. Some of his authored works are Let’s Talk About Faith and Intellect, The Doors of Faith, Wrestling the Angel, and many more.

  • Mauli Junior Bonner is one of the most sought after development coaches for speakers, influencers, and recording artists in the entertainment industry. He has spent the last 20 years developing talent for major television networks as well as working with some of the most influential recording artists of our generation. Mauli’s clients range from Ariana Grande to Stevie Wonder and from Camila Cabello to Gladys Knight. He recently began his film career as writer and director of the award winning movie His Name Is Green Flake. With his wife, Chantel, Mauli also recently authored the children’s book A Child of God.

  • Patrick Q. Mason is an associate professor of religious studies and history at Utah State University, where he holds the Leonard J. Arrington Chair of Mormon History and Culture. A Utah native, Mason was trained in American history at Brigham Young University and the University of Notre Dame. He was a Fulbright Scholar in Romania, has served on the boards of the Mormon History Association and Dialogue Foundation, and is an advisor and contributor to Faith Matters. Mason is the author of several books including Planted, Restoration: God’s Call to the 21st-Century World, and co-authored Proclaim Peace, and The Council of Fifty. Mason is frequently consulted by the national and international media on stories related to Latter-day Saint culture and history.

  • Melinda Wheelwright Brown is the author of Eve and Adam: Discovering the Beautiful Balance. She loves deep discussions with faithful women of all ages trying to find joy, even amid life’s thorny patches. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Brigham Young University and is a respected teacher and public speaker. Her love of solving problems, especially those faced by women, has led to her involvement in and support of several organizations, including Fight the New Drug, Days for Girls, Better Days 2020, Big Ocean Women, and the Elizabeth Smart Foundation, where she currently chairs the board.

  • Ronell Hugh is originally from Bad Kreuznach, Germany. He is first and foremost a proud husband and father, having been married to his wife, Briawna, for twenty years. They are the parents of four children. Ronell became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Coventry, England, at the age of fourteen in June 1993. He has been a featured guest for BYU Women’s Conference, Latter-day Saint MBA Society Conference, All In: An LDS Living Podcast, Utah Valley University Institute, and stakes and wards around the country.

    Professionally, he is a global marketing and business executive who has served in leadership roles throughout his career with Qualtrics, Adobe, Microsoft, Walmart, HP, and the Major League Soccer team Real Salt Lake. He launched a social enterprise focused on racial inclusion called Breathing Inclusivity. He is an active advisory board member with organizations such as Ensign College and the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University where he also earned his MBA and undergraduate degree.

  • Reyna I. Aburto has served on the Primary General Board and more recently as the Second Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After experiencing an earthquake that destroyed her home in Nicaragua and living through a period of civil unrest as a child, she learned that relationships, family, love, and faith are our most precious possessions. She is the author of Reaching for the Savior o Acudamos al Salvador (Reaching for the Savior-Spanish Edition). Reyna and her husband, Carlos, enjoy spending time with their family.

  • Adam S. Miller is a professor of philosophy at Collin College in McKinney, Texas. He earned a BA in comparative literature from BYU and an MA and PhD in philosophy from Villanova University. He’s the author of more than ten books, including Original Grace, Letters to a Young Mormon, and An Early Resurrection. He and his wife, Gwen, have three children.

  • Barbara Morgan Gardner is an associate professor of Church history and doctrine at Brigham Young University. Her research interests focus primarily on women in religious leadership, international education (most specifically Latin America), and religious pedagogy. She is the author of the book The Priesthood Power of Women in the Temple, Church, and Family. Barbara received her PhD in instructional psychology. Her master’s degree is in educational leadership and foundations, with an emphasis in international education development. She completed postdoctoral work at Harvard University in higher education administration. She served as institute director for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boston, which included her assignment as the chaplain at both Harvard and MIT. She continues to serve as the chaplain-at-large in higher education for the Church.

  • Sheri Dew is a native of Ulysses, Kansas, and a graduate of Brigham Young University. She has written a number of books, including the biographies of three Presidents of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: Presidents Russell M. Nelson, Gordon B. Hinckley, and Ezra Taft Benson. She served from 1997 to 2002 as Second Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency and is executive vice president and chief content officer of Deseret Management Corporation. Her best-selling books include, most recently, Insights from a Prophet’s Life: Russell M. Nelson, Women and the Priesthood, Worth the Wrestle, and Amazed by Grace.

  • Steve Young is a two-time NFL MVP, a Super Bowl MVP, and a first-ballot Hall of Famer. A key member of ESPN’s weekly coverage, Young holds undergraduate and law degrees from Brigham Young University. He lives with his family in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is president and cofounder of HGGC, a private equity firm, and founder of the Forever Young Foundation, a global charity for children, which he co-chairs with his wife, Barb. Young is most recently the author of The Law of Love, and co-authored QB: My Life Behind the Spiral, and The Philosopher and the Quarterback.

  • Alexis Bradley & Chanté Stutznegger have created an Instagram platform, @letstalk_sis, where they seek to bring awareness to difficult topics—specifically race, diversity, and inclusion—to promote dialogue and initiate positive change. They are committed to making change through connection and humanity one conversation at a time. Alexis, whose background is in sociology, and Chanté, whose background is in psychology, have spent the past twenty years advocating for youth in a variety of platforms, addressing issues such as inclusion and diversity, education, empowerment, safety, leadership, career development, and self-esteem, as well as working diligently to make schools and communities safer. Alexis and Chanté have presented their messages through trainings, workshops, panels, published books, articles, and more to organizations across the nation and world.

  • Richard E. Turley Jr. retired in March 2020 as Managing Director of the Church Communication Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served previously as Managing Director of the Public Affairs Department, the Church Historical Department, the Family History Department, and the combined Family and Church History Department. He also served as Assistant Church Historian and Recorder. An innovator by nature, he helped oversee the creation of the four-volume history Saints: The Story of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Days, the launch of FamilySearch and FamilySearch Indexing, the building of the new Church History Library, the development of the Joseph Smith Papers, and the formation of the Church Historian’s Press. He acquired key books, documents, and artifacts for the Church’s historical collections, including the 1829 Printer’s Manuscript of the Book of Mormon.

  • Camille Fronk Olson is a professor emeritus of ancient scripture and former department chair at Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. She holds an MA in ancient Near Eastern studies and a PhD in the sociology of the Middle East from BYU. She has served on the Young Women General Board and on the Church’s Teacher Development Curriculum Committee. She is a popular speaker and writer whose published books include In the Hands of the Potter, Mary, Martha and Me, Too Much to Carry Alone and co-authored Women of the Old Testament. She loves to travel, garden, and research stories about her ancestors. She is married to Paul Olson, which includes the blessing of two children and four grandchildren.

  • Emma Nissen is a rapidly rising singer-songwriter with a lifelong love for sharing messages of hope and encouragement. Born into a musically talented Swedish-American family, she developed a passion for music at an early age. Since her first hit song, “Gotta Have Faith,” she’s written dozens of secular and Christian songs. Her rich, “jazzified” vocals and inspiring lyrics resonate with fans everywhere.


 
  • Laurel Christensen Day is the president of Deseret Book Company, where she has spent her career developing content. She received a master’s degree in communications management and is the author of several books including The Faith Experiment. Finding love later in life, she married Stephen Day and with that, gained an instant family and became a grandmother—a role she adores. She loves spending time with Stephen at their favorite place in Cannon Beach, Oregon.

Jenny Reeder

Jenny Reeder is the nineteenth-century women’s history specialist at the Church History Department in Salt Lake City. She has an MA in history, archival management, and documentary editing from New York University and a PhD in American history from George Mason University, where she focused on nineteenth-century women and religion, memory, and material culture. She has been a speaker at Time Out for Women, BYU Women’s Conference, BYU Easter Conference, and BYU Education Week. Her most recent publication is First: The Life and Faith of Emma Smith with Deseret Book in 2021. She is a coauthor of At the Pulpit: 185 Years of Discourses by Latter-day Saint Women and The Witness of Women: Firsthand Experiences and Testimonies of the Restoration. She has contributed chapters to many edited collections.
